A couple of weeks ago I announced the title of my third book, a project I’ve been working on for the past (almost) four years. Today, I want to reveal the cover, tell you a little bit about its creation, and GET INTO THE JUICY, DELICIOUS FEELS of what this book is all about. Mmmm, I can already feel the warm-fuzzies percolating.
So without further ado, I give you (*drumroll*)…
It’s a continuation of my other books, Pressed Petals (choosing and loving yourself) and Hope and Other Beautiful Things (believing in yourself). Like those, my third book From August to Aquarius is also journey, and through it, I transformed. But unlike my other books, this one feels….different. Bigger, more important, like its release is curiously positioned at the pivotal turning point of something even I can’t name.
Maybe partially because of what it means to me personally, maybe partially due to the astrology and divine timing of life, and maybe most importantly because of the energy it carries and the intentions I put into it: to inspire healing and reawaken faith in love within the collective.
But I never set out to write a book about love.
It all began in 2022 when I wrote a simple list of what I wanted in a partner, which then grew into a poem. But it was what happened after that changed everything…and was absolute proof of the magical, transformative power of words.
Through writing what I wanted—not just the “who,” but how I wanted to feel in a relationship—I realized that intention plus action can completely shift our reality. This book is that story—
the story of two ancient star-crossed souls finding each other in yet another life and the magic that follows when we show up fully, as our authentic selves.
The back synopsis sums it up chef’s kiss style, but at its core, From August to Aquarius is the very true, very chronological story of what happens when we accept our own love and expand that love to allow another to meet us there. While romantic love was my container for this lesson, the message of From August to Aquarius represents so much more.
It’s about conscious love in all its forms: how we create it, receive it, and allow it without losing ourselves. It spins the story of learning to accept and allow love first within ourselves and radiate it outward into any and all relationships, communities, and the collective as a whole.
It’s a memoir-in-verse with a side of mystery-meets-romance-meets-New Age, as much as it is poetry. It’s not any one genre, nor is it fully definable. But it is magical (like riding a unicorn through a sunset!) and filled with vivid and tender memories, emotional highs and lows, and the mysterious workings of the universe. It explores the balance between fate and free will because even if some things are fated, we still have to choose them.
This book is also a mirror: a testament to the idea that if I can experience this kind of evolved, reciprocal, big-hearted love, you can too—and you don’t have to shrink, sacrifice, or self-abandon to do it. It’s centered around themes of devotion, the courage to choose, and the power of words to transform our lives. There are moments in this story that I still even can’t really explain, not fully, (& it’s hard to stump a writer!) but I’ve stopped trying to. Some things simply can’t be explained.
At its roots, it’s a reminder: real love exists & it’s already within you. My hope and intention is that this book contributes to restoring faith in love itself and helps people believe again. I often say love is my only religion and for that reason, From August to Aquarius feels like a devotional, a personal and spiritual tome, and altar to love itself.
And it’s far, far more than poetry.
While the book is comprised of poems and prose, don’t let that deter you from reading it if you’re not a poetry fan. This is not Shakespeare, Frost, or Poe. It’s narrative, sensory, and lyrical but written in a way that is very easy to understand.
I often refer to my poetry as “poetry for people who don’t like poetry” just as much as it is for poetry-lovers and fans. My poetry is both accessible and layered, and my intention for this book is that it helps to unlock something within you (how many more times can I say poetry in this post? Challenge accepted…)
I want my work to be a bridge that connects us, and I feel this book particularly has much to offer when it comes to connecting with readers. For some, that may be the imagery and language itself—the metaphors, the literary devices, the lexicon. For others, it might be the narrative of my lived experience and the magic that happened. Or maybe it’s pure unadulterated curiosity around WTF I’ve been so diligently working on these past few years.
Whatever may draw you to this particular work, I hope it inspires, catalyzes, and fills you with hope, healing, and above all—love.
If you hate poetry, this book is for you.
If you love poetry, this book is for you.
If you are intrigued by past lives and manifestation, this book is definitely for you.
If you’re single, this book is for you.
If you’re in a relationship, this book is for you.
If you absolutely love love, this book is for you.
If you are deeply skeptical, cynical or ambivalent about love (or poetry!), this book is for you (….maybe especially for you).
If you are a human being on this earth a being in this or any universe, this book is for you.
Read it aloud to your pets! Your plants! Your angels and spirit guides! May it find you in the same surprising way love found me and may it spark something incredible within you. May you hold that spark in your heart and say yes to that journey and find out where it leads.
Pre-orders will open March 28th!
There are layers of this book that I can’t tell yet. The how, the what, the when; so much of it unfolded in such a magical way for me and at times made me question everything.
I can’t wait to share more of that story—exclusively with my subscribers and those who preorder the book.
They will be the first to know when preorders open and the first to receive the behind-the-scenes pieces I won’t be sharing publicly.
Will you join the magic?
With love & hope always,
